I worked on a bunch of GS power supplies long ago, and they had the same problem: a 100k, 1/2-watt resistor near the main input kept opening up. Replacing it with a 1-watt always fixed it. Sorry I don't have the specific location written down anywhere, but it shouldn't be hard to find and measure with a meter.
