No, it does not plug into the game port, and yes, it's called a SoftSwitch, since it switches from 40 to 80 colums with the PR#slot command. No need to swap cables. It's been a number of years, but it plugs into a chip socket just below the game port. Plug it into the game port and you may fry something. Raymond
