Hi,
Some one came to me with a problem with the cursor moving to the
bottom and to the right all by itself. Here is the steps he took. Not
sure if it is the Keyboard , the GS/OS or the nmotherboard that would
be causing it.
Here is the steps he took:
1. I had three mice, three cables and one keyboard. I did 24 tests.
2. I tested each mouse using the cable normally and then reversing
the cable (6*3=18 tests). These tests were completed prior to
cleaning the ball and rollers of the mice.
3. Each test ended the same. The computer was rebooted for each test.
The end result is that when the desktop is beginning to display, the
cursor appears in the top left part of the screen, then migrates to
the bottom-centre of the screen. From there it slides off to the
right and disappears at the bottom right part of the screen. Each
mouse can bring the cursor back into the window but it again migrates
to the bottom right and disappears.
4. I then cleaned the ball and rollers of each mouse using isopropl
alchohol. I randomly choose one of the cables and plugged it into the
computer and keyboard ?normally? (the coilled part nearest to the
keyboard).
I then tested the three mice (3 tests). The results were the same as
mentioned in step "3." above.
5. I then removed the mouse so that there was no mouse connected, and
rebooted (1 test). The result was the same as step "3." above.
6. I then disconnected the keyboard so that there was no mouse or
keyboard connected, and rebooted (1 test). The result was the same as
step "3." above.
7. I then disconnected the cable from the computer. (i.e. no cable.
no keyboard, no mouse) and rebooted (1 test). the result was the same
as step "3." above.
Here is the data on the hardware;
