ANN: Apple 13-Sector Disk Transfer (ADT13)

Hello all,

I've hacked together a 13-sector version of ADT. Before I make a 
release, I'd appreciate it if a few people (who preferably already have 
standard 16-sector ADT running well on their setup) could have a look 
into it and report their successes and/or failures before I upload a 
"real" release to Asimov.

The system requirements are: Any 48K or higher Apple II or compatible, 
with any Apple or compatible 5.25 inch drive, an Apple Super Serial 
Card, a Nullmodem or serial Cable, a PC; basically any setup that is 
able to run standard ADT. No 13-sector disks or 13-sector Disk II 
controllers are required.

Currently on the PC end there are versions for MS-DOS (works fairly well 
under Windows 95/98/ME, and "sorta kinda" works on NT/2000/XP), and for 
Linux (source and i386 executable).

I'd be grateful if somebody could compile it for Windows eventually when 
it's finished, since I don't have a C compiler for Windows, and being on 
dialup I don't really plan on downloading one in the near future.

The package, as available now, comes with

1.) DOS32.DMP, a text file to send to your Apple via the serial link, 
which "types in" Apple DOS 3.2 (following the DOS33.DMP model) to give 
you a start, if you have no bootable 13-sector disks.

2.) ADT13.DMP, the same for the ADT13 executable.

3.) ADT13.D13, a 13-sector disk image of ADT13

4.) DOS32STD.D13 and DOS32PLS.D13, reconstructed 13-sector Disk images 
of the Apple DOS 3.2 System master.

5.) BOOT13.DSK, a standard 16-sector image that prepares the Apple for a 
13-sector boot if you don't have a 13-sector Disk II controller. 
Transfer with standard ADT.

6.) COPY2P55.DSK, Copy II Plus 5.5, I'm including it because it is 
fairly useful for moving stuff back and forth between 13-sector and 
16-sector disks.

7.) Linux and DOS executables for ADT13.

8.) Sources for the PC end of things. On the Apple side I just 
hex-edited the standard ADT executable, so there are no sources beyond 
the standard ADT source.

9.) A few instructions, which presume that you already know how to run 
standard ADT. Full instructions will be written once the test is through.

If you'd be so nice as to volunteer a test, please drop me a line to 
"ticmanis@gmx.de" (unmangled; I get spammed anyway) with a valid return 
address, and I'll mail it to you as a .ZIP file (or .tar.gz if you 
prefer). The whole package should be about 200-300 Kilobytes. Please 
don't distribute the preliminary version; the final version will be 
free-for-all.

WANTED: Binary files of the two 13-sector Disk II controller PROMs, any 
13-sector Disk images you might make with the program (especially from 
any Apple DOS 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 or 3.2.1 Master Disks, but send anything). 
I'd like to set up a little "Apple II 13-sector corner" Web Site if and 
when as I manage to get together enough stuff to make it worthwhile.
