You can check with Teranews directly, but I've run across several discussion
threads in other newsgroups that mentioned the following...

- Teranews will not be maintaining their free news servers for at least 6
months. They've exceeded their budget, and have told everyone to deal with the
up and down performance.

- Teranews will not be supporting certain newsreaders, specifically MS Outlook.

I hate having to pay for newsgroup access, but I recently picked up a membership
with a paid service (newsguy.com).

No connection problems, no restrictions on the newsreaders that I want to use,
and they're pretty affordable. There are actually a number of reliable paid
services out there, so you may be better off switching to one of them in the
long run. Good luck!
