Mike,
Is the problem the conversion or the moving to Apple II media? If it's the 
conversion, just use the "Save As" option when saving your file and then 
save it as a .txt file. Then, all you have to do is move it to Apple 
formatted media to get it to load into AppleWorks 5.0.
