Hi All,
I was reading through some old issues of II Alive and SSII and saw the
ads for the various Atarisoft games there were put on sale back around
1996-1997.
The ads reminded me that I had purchased several Atarisoft games (Track
and Field, Donkey Kong) at Herb's Software (if I recall correctly)
about 6 months to a year before.
At the time I made my purchases, I thought it was unusual for the store
to have so many BRAND NEW copies of the Atarisoft titles. After all,
they must have been at least 8 to 10 years old.
So I was just curious, where does this cache of Atarisoft games come
from? I imagine it must have been stored away at some warehouse
somewhere. However, I would have thought such a large volume of
software would have been discovered and cleared out long before the mid
1990's. :D
In any case, just a random thought. Those bright orange boxes for
Atarisoft do stand out quite a bit and are a good memory from the 80's.
