Anyway, I googled this... Apparently there's a book going round that
shows you how to build an Apple I.

Anyway, this link purports to have FIG Forth for the Apple I, I have
yet to check it out. I am not sure how different the I is from the ][,
so I am not sure if it's just a matter of changing the calls to ROM...
