The problem with using the C64 as a benchmark is that those emulators
include the overhead of the 64's custom chips, not just the 6510. The
VIC-II requires a fair bit of horsepower itself to emulate, so these
numbers don't really give a fair shake to the speeds you'd expect from
pure CPU emulation.
