Hard drive for GS?

Hi,
I'm blind, and a total newbie to the concept of hard drives on Apple
computers.  I'm thinking of getting a hard disk for my Rom 01 GS.  Since I'm
blind, I use Prodos and DOS 3.3, and not GS/OS.  My system isn't equipped
for a hard drive in the least, no IDE/SCSI/etc. card.
My first question is, is there any way to use a modern IDE hard drive on a
GS?  Is there an IDE interface card?  If so, how much does it cost, is it
still made or is it an old, long since discontinued product?  Also, am I
correct that the partition limit for Prodos volumes is 32 megabytes?  What
about using hard disks under DOS 3.3 with something like AmDos?
