I have used these (making console cables for Sun servers) and have never
needed a tool to insert the pins - just grip the wire and push the
pin into the (correct) hole. Removing them does really require the
appropriate tool (and a stiff wire to push the female connector out
of the hole while the remover is around the wire helps).
