Yes, you can reprogram font as MouseText into character EPROM chip for Apple II+. I would suggest to reprogram MouseText between $E0 through $FF which it is for lowercase because Apple II+ is incapble to display lowercase characters and MouseText until routine is written. I have done this before. It is not the same method for Apple //e which MouseText can only be in $80 through $9F.

Is the somewhere else to put it? I have a lowercase mod in my ][+ and would like to have both. I also have an 80 column card (Videx)which would be nice to have mousetext on. I believe it has its own character EPROM, which would need to be reprogrammed.

The Videx card supports an alternate character set in a second EPROM.
It's ususually used for inverse, but you could substitute anything.

I was waiting for someone else to say but they didn't, so I will. I can't see any point in creating a custom MouseText add-on that isn't 100% software compatible with the //e, unless you just want a unique system to write your own software that will never run on any other Apples.
