Request for Product

Like a lot of people, I've been very happy to see new products come out for
the Apple II recently. Big or small, they're all appreciated.

I'm interested in finding someone who can design and possibly manufacture
something I've been looking for, for a long time. There was a product listed
in Nibble for a couple of months, then it was gone, something I wish was
still available.

I think it was call "ProSlot" - it was an adapter that allowed you to plug 2
cards into slot 7 (because of the extra room next to that slot). Only one
card was active at a time, and obviously, you had to power off to change
the active card. It was a nice idea, being able to leave a card installed in
your machine that you might use often enough that it was hassle to
plug/unplug and save wear and tear on your equipment.

Well, thats the situation I'm in. I have a //e that I'd like to keep two
cards in but don't have enough slots - a HS SCSI (used on occasion to test
drives) and a IDE/CF card that is the //e's regular bootup device. All my
other slots are occupied and performing critical tasks I don't want to give
up.

I don't know if this type of device would work well with faster controllers
or not, and I'd like to hear some educated opinions. It doesn't seem to me
that it would that complex of a project, and it would be a useful one too,
probably for a lot of people. I think it would sell nicely.

xtraslot4iie anyone?
