You were advised of the easiest, cheapest, most reliable option. An old Mac
suitable for the task is all of $20-$30 - the USB drive alone will cost at
least that, probably a bit more.


Cost is not the issue, it's room. I don't have the space to set up yet another computer. A USB drive would have been no problem.
