First, no one has said that Sydnicomm isn't a valuable service.

You want the A2 community to grow, right? You want more business for
Syndicomm right? How are you to convince new potential users at
Syndicomm that the service is right for them?

I'm not talking about a free "leech" account. I'm talking about an
account with view only privleges so new/returning users can see whats
there! Meaning, no downloading, only viewing of the file names. No
posting, only viewing of the messages. No chatting, ONLY VIEWING.
This hurts no one, doesn't drain the resources, and people will either
buy a subscription or leave, since its no fun to just watch (duh), but
it give new potential users a chance to see whats there. One has to
see what they're going to be paying $35 for - great deal or not, its
still up to them to decide.

Benefits: You don't have to deal with any crap, since the account is a
VIEW ONLY guest account. Its easy to implement. You might actually
get a couple new users out of it, god forbid. If you feel REALLY
protective, you can limit forum viewing to only the first 10 messages
of every thread if you're worried.

Cons: ???

fyi: I consider this Syndicomm thread totally seperate than the A2
central thread I started regarding having forums there. Since I'm told
that the two are "seperate" entities.
