I have a SEARS HARDWARE less than a mile from my home, don't you? :o)
There are also Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart and KMart usually
have a pretty good selection of hardware. :o)
I was partly kidding, hence the smiley.
But we are rapidly approaching the day of the "plastic bag hardware"
store, where there are a few popular sizes of everything, and nothing
in between--and you have to buy them at "8 for $1.29" or whatever. ;-(
For example, try finding a brass 3/8" 4-40 roundhead phillips screw...
If you don't have a screw cutter these days, you're stuck.
For that matter, try finding _anything_ in 2-56.
As long as 6-32, 8-32, and 10-24 will do you, you have a _few_ choices.
