I forget where I put all of them but....Google this expression "The Network
from Heck" and you should find a series of articles and postings I wrote on
this subject. It might provide some interest and info.

As to a Appletalk IWII and a Apple //e with a network card; yes, it works
great. What is REALLY fun is to hook a networked IWII into a modern net,
using a old Mac as a LT Bridge (and yes, I have tried a LC475 among others;
it works fine) then printing to it from a G4 or G5 running OS X. Works great
in 10.1 or 10.2 and iffy in 10.3 You need the AppleshareIWII extension and
LT Bridge loaded on the LC475 and you need to load the CUPS IWII driver on
the OS X box. Apple's old IWII extension won't work. Harrumph! By the way;
an IWII on Appleshare works from a PC (on 95-ME use COPSTALK 2.01, on
Win2k-XP use PCMacLAN 2000 Print Server).

Oh and one more thing: on a LC475 you only have one slot; the PDS. For a
cool effect it is customary for A2 fans to populate this with an Apple II
card. Do that and you loose the one chance you get to go ethernet. Not to
worry: Find a Asante EN/SC and you can now plug the ethernet into your
external SCSI bus. Some claim this is slow but hey, we are talking about
hooking up an Apple II and it sure ain't no speed demon.
