It is quite possible it is limited to 4 GB which makes it similar to
GS/OS which can only access volumes up to 4 GB in size.  The 2 GB
limit comes from the fact that that is the largest volume you can
create with HFS.  If you want a larger volume than that on your Mac
you need to use HFS+.

It is possible that AppleShare server software for the Mac simply
doesn't know enough about ProDOS volumes to be able to convert the
directory information into data it can use.  AppleShare does have its
own way of storing directory information.

ProDOS' AppleShare support has no problems dealing with volumes up to
2 GB, or possibly larger, because you can't read or write to a
specific block on an AppleShare volume.  You can only access the files
through their filename and such (directory info basically).
