processor in MX80 is 8085 I think. One of the 8080 compatible CPU's. inside: CPU, ROM, RAM buffer CPU runs ROM code, takes data from connector, puts it in RAM buffer. It moves steppers (no position feedback, just moves the motors X ammount of steps) and punches the correct pin(s) on the print head.
Hmmm, very interesting. Would like a dump of the ROMS to have a quick poke about with a disassembler...
