Sounds complicated. So there really is no easy way to play all my IIe games on a IIgs without some serious tweaking or using cracked images? I might as well go back to using my IIe then, as 99% of the games I still play are for the IIe. These disks are Copy-Protected modified DOS 3.3 Boot/Loader disks. Publishers did this on the game disks to "prevent" copying. I assumed using the old unidisk controller card would fix this problem.
The IIgs looks exactly like a IIe to all games prior to 86. The exception is obviously the floppy drive controller. If you are running form a floppy drive controller in slot 6 and it still doesn't run, then there is some protection that is doing a rom check or a slot scan for a cracking card or some other such 'feature' that inhibits it from starting up. Have you considered making copies of the software and disabling these features? (Deprotecting)
