Re: Semi OT: Netatalk

Hi,
Has anyone here used a Farallon Phonenet PC III (or similar) card and
netatalk? I'm trying to get my linux box talking on my localtalk network and
then hopefully one day acting as a TCP/IP gateway. The problem I am running
into is that the cops.o driver I compiled into my kernel is trying to use
IRQ 5. My card is set to IRQ 3, and would like to keep it that way since IRQ
5 is used for my sound card in Win 98se, which i dual boot.

Anyway, how do I get the cops.o driver to use IRQ 3? Most of the
documentation seems to apply to loading cops.o as a module.

It's been a while since I hacked on that driver but IIRC the COPS card did not actually use interrupts; it relied upon polling TX-ready and RX-ready registers. Having said that, it occurs to me that there may be more than one flavor of hardware sold by COPS...

Anyway, it should be very simple to modify the driver source to use any IRQ you desire.
