Re: Apple //gs questions.

I'd recomend a US Robotics Sportster 56K External modem. They have a
proven track record for working well with Apple IIs and the modem's
extended command set is well documented. There were millions of them
produced, so its a modem thats widely available and if money is an
issue, you can get the 33.6k model on ebay for next to nothing.

As far as software, I'm a big fan of ProTerm (v3.1 was the latest)
however its more of an 8-bit application and also maybe hard to find
used. A copy pops up on ebay once a month or so and can be had for
under $15.

A GSOS based application that is also quite popular is Spectrum. It
can be found in A2central's online store for $30. For an additional
$15 you can get Spectrum's internet suite web browser (no graphics).
Keep in mind that $45 is a lot to pay for software for a computer you
spent $20+S&H to buy, but its about the only thing out there thats GSOS
based and with web browsing capabilities.

You might want to ask in csa2.marketplace if anyone has a copy of
either of these to spare.

Last but not least, welcome to the community!
