Can't tell you exactly what yenc stands for, but newsgroups only accept 
text messages (and it may enforce line lengths too - not sure).  Anyway, 
that'll cause real grief for a binary file.  yencoding is one way to 
convert a binary file to postable text - but you need to decode it on the 
other end.

Look for a decent newsreader... I've been using Xnews for quite a while and 
it will decode the posts.
