Job's controlled the asthetics of the case - when it came time to add the
vents, he was involved and he approved it. I know the early demonstration
prototypes didn't have vents, neither did the first batch of dealer stock
because Apple (Jerry Mannock and Steve Jobs) had issues with the company
responsible for manufacturing the reaction-injection mold polyurethane
cases. By the end of 1977, they had switched to ABS plastic.
How many Apple II cases shipped without vents? Couple of a hundred, but less
than a thousand?
