Yes, I have done it.  http://fire.prohosting.com/tolsen64/

That was with a null-modem cable hooked up between com1 and com2.  I
have tried it with the tcp ports and it works as well.  The bad thing
is that it
doesn't drop the DCD line when the telnet user dumps...so the BBS just
sits
there and doesn't reset.

I have a bbs up & running...gets about 1 call a month...unless I
advertise
it...then it gets a bunch of one-time callers.  Runs on a Gen-You-Wine
Apple IIgs, telnettable using an Ethernet Modem.
