I'm considering Buying one of those Apple 2e cards for the MAC LC-II. Is it
a worthy alternative to a real 2e?
what are some of the specs? can I use the LC's hard drive with it? how about
the memory?
The IIe card can run at 1mhz or 2mhz
It has 128k RAM on it and can use up to 1mb of the Macs RAM
You can set up the Mac with ProDOS partitions. Mine has two 32mb
partitions that it boots off of. You could use an external ProDOS
hard drive instead if you wanted. The Mac can also read and write to
those ProDOS partitions, handy if you're downloading software.
It uses the Macs mouse and keyboard
You can connect a couple of 5.25" drives as well as one 3.5" UniDisk.
The IIe card will also use the Macs superdrive.
The IIe card will print through the Macs serial ports. I'm not sure
which all printers it can use but I've used the Imagewriter II and the
Stylewriter II.
You can use an Apple II joystick with it.
The card only works with OS 7.5.5 or earlier
I use mine in a Color Classic with a LC575 motherboard
I probably missed a few things but that's just off the top of my head.
