    Access the text-based Control Panel (Apple-Control-Esc),
select 'RAM Disk' and examine what is reported next to
"Largest Selectable". Add 256K to that number and that

    The size is reported in kilobytes, so you can always divide
that number by 1024 for megabytes.

    My own machine reports "8064K", so (8064 + 256) / 1024
comes out to 8.125 MB RAM. Makes perfect sense since my
ROM 3 board has 1.125 megabytes (128K Slow RAM, and
1024K Fast RAM) and I have a 7 MB RAM card installed.


Just a detail:  your formula should be (8064 + 128) /1024,
since 128K is mirrored (slow) RAM.  And 128K is 0.125 MB.
