The model that proceeded the Apple III, and Apple's last attempt to turn
around the Apple III line which had been a dismal failure (next month will
mark the 25th anniversary of the Apple III's introduction incidentally).
The Apple III Plus came out in December 1983. The keyboard layout
and keys changed (virtually identical to the Apple IIe), it came with 256K
RAM standard, a side-switch for an interlaced video mode, working clock
battery, back port connectors with thumb-screws and icon labeling (much
like the IIc, Lisa and Mac at that time), and reliable and stable with all or
most of the bugs worked out that made the original Apple III such a failure.
There's some nice pictures of one here:

If you've never heard of the Apple III family line of computers, then it
could best be described as Apple's first attempt at creating a computer
designed primarily for business use (at the time, only the original Apple II
and II Plus existed and fairly limited out-of-the-box for business use).
Even though the Apple III failed, a lot was borrowed in the Apple IIe,
the Lisa and even the Apple IIgs.
