Hi again Moll,

Pity it doesn't seem to work with ZDOS, but I did get it to work with ESDOS ][.

Can you post a ZDOS boot disk image?
Should be at a very similar address to $B747 that the boot process
hands off to DOS.

I did a quickie and it seemed not to be... at least your trick that worked with Pronto and ES didn't work with ZDOS.

I used the 2.3 hack. I made the hack by crossing it with two other DOS variants, both called "DOS 3.4", one of which shared ZDOS 2.2's "clicking" and one of which didn't.

I have a few other 'fast' dos's if you are interested:
DavidDOS
Sandy's FDOS (local Aus product)

o.o

FDOS is one I haven't heard of, prolly because I come from the US.

I've seen a few other hacks myself: "DOS 3.4" (clicky and clickless variants), "ESDOS ][" (variant of ProntoDOS), PigDOS, QDOS, Diversi-DOS 48K (*cough*shareware*cough*) etc.

Do you know if there are different versions of Pronto-DOS?

There appear to be two versions, at least; yours has a free space hack while I am aware of a version that does not have it.
