Bill/ Sean:Last time I made a set of cables, I purchases a double ended 6" 40 pin DIP 'jumper' connector and just cut it in half and hammered on a recycled IDE 40 pin header. :) It was sooo much easier than attempting to get a socket header on there myself. (2- 3" cables for about $25)
A person could do the same thing to replace a TranswarpGS cable as well, but you have to flip over each pair of wires to get the odd/even pins correct.
Hmm, now that I think about it, I was rather inelegant and clumbsy about the whole affair, maybe if I do it over and get new pin headers if that would clear up my cache issue...
Hope this helps, Ed Bill Garber wrote:

Or is my only bet to : solder the pin back on? :-( : : Any advice would be gladly appreciated... Jameco sells those displacement plugs, or, I could send you one free of charge. Just pay postage. Must tell you though, that they are a bitch and 7/10 to put on the cable without special tools.
