Re: What type of battery does a ROM 3 IIgs need?
Look for the Tadrian TL-5101 battery. It is a "1/2 AA"-sized battery
that delivers 3.6V. Most Radio Shacks should carry it, but it will
cost around $15.
Be sure that you get the battery WITHOUT the leads.
If you someday come across a ROM 01 IIGS, its battery type is the same
except that it includes the leads (and has the part number TL-5101/P).
On a ROM 01 system, you'll either need to solder the new battery, or
remove the old battery while leaving the leads on the motherboard and
wrap the new battery's terminals onto the existing leads.
I hope this helps.
