If you have an original II, congratulations - Apple II collectors,
enthusiasts prize the original. If you're computer is from '79, it may be an
Apple II Plus though.

Serial cards are plentiful, even new ones - either someone here will offer
to help you, or you can look on eBay for a Super Serial Card. The original
Apple serial cards are great retro for your II, but not as functional.
Connecting a II to a Linux box as a terminal is pretty routine. Several of
the participants in this group are multi-platform classic computing
enthusiasts so you'll find a lot of company here.

There are a couple of different FAQ resources, and general info sites on the
net - I'm not going to be partial, just Goggle "Apple II FAQ" and you'll get
tons of info.

In addition to CSA2, I recommend checking A2Central for news...

People use their Apple II computers for just about anything imaginable -
gaming and programming nostalgia to practical everyday applications. Some
people are just collectors.
