I use a ROM card to get backward compatibility to
the original II from II+ and IIe. Could this work
from the original II to IIplus ???  I might be able
to burn the ROMs into eproms as I have done for my
solution and send it to him. Yes, the II plus ROMs
should work in the original II if you have installed
a language card.
