this has been a continuing discussion..most people have the equipment for a
digicard network
but you needed a disk called "mandrake" to actually run one...and that seems
to be unfindable...

this is pretty much the same deal for the mastery development network...i
think someone has disks for
that setup...and i have a teacher card ...and there are student cards
about...and at one time there was a post
on a way to 'hack' the disks in order to get the setup to work after the
disks were made to expire..but that is
as far as that goes...making a student card into a teacher card (assuming my
rom on the teacher card works) looks
pretty straight forward as well...

corvus network that stuff is available..and there are people out there with
that setup...

i myself has something called a 'comuterlynx network' for the apple ii
...that claims in the manual it is completely
hardware based...ie..no software disks etc...i am eventually gonna get to
digging it out..the solution is prob just
having some tech guru make a clone of it...and the rom chip setup on that
device...and get a network that way
any more info on someone who has one of these would be helpful for my setup

so if you have some kinda news on software to use for the digicard network
..or mastery development ..or
something else...(there is also a guy making a setup called nadanet? i
think..but not sure what i could do with that)

and there also is the lance eithernet card..but that is good for getting out
on the internet with an apple //e not so good
no tcp/ip drivers i think for full useage (would solve terry olsens problem
with boycott...if he could get metal/fv to work
on a lance eithernet card..well..that would be ideal..and metal/fv is
modify'able...so to speak...

any way that is what comes to mind ....

we are all ears here..if you have a mandrake disk or somehow close to a
digicard network...the only other thing i
heard about a digicard network is that there is a way to get it to work w/o
the install floppy assuming you have one that
when you plug in your digicard box..the little xmas tree lights light up in
a sequential fashion right to left or whatever..that
means the actual software or whatever is on the internal digicard hd....but
lost track of the guy who was gonna tell me on
how to proceed from there to make another master off the hd version that
according to the above means it is on the hd

so if you know any old h.s. teachers who used to run a digicard network in
the old science lab..get a hold of them..because
it seems when these networks went down..mastery development /digicard/
corvus..the equip went to the surplus sale and the
software disks went with the teacher

the only other thing i think? might be correct is that i think you could use
siders on the mastery development network..now
that would be kinda neat if that is true...

anyway...my 2c worth rumor etc...
