Re: Doctor Design sound card -- how to install?

Bill has it right. It wasn't too hard once I got the card out and
started looking at the various connectors near it on the motherboard.
Basically there's two connectors, one for the system sounds and another
for the internal speaker (error beeps mostly). So you plug in the
molexes from the sound card. The biggest hassle was figuring out how to
mount the outer faceplate (the beast has two of them sandwiched
together, and a dipswitch and a speaker in connector between the two).
Turns out that you need a tall slot in the back (or the ability to
punch out the plastic around a smaller slot, heheh) to push the
dipswitch and the speaker connector through. Then, once they are
outside the machine, you screw back on the faceplate and all the
washers and such. This sandwiches together the outer faceplate and the
inner one.

Now I'm gonna get some speakers and see how it sounds. :)
