In case it interests someone: I once patched Mousepaint to work with
that device. In fact it looked for the following devices and used the
first one found:

1. Apple Graphics Tablet (patch provided by me)
2. Apple Mouse (original code)
3. Serial PC Mouse in "Mouse Systems" mode (was quite popular before
Microsoft came in that market) connected to a SSC (patch provided by
me)
4. Joystick (popular patch)
