nicely done....thou

i have a side question on .pdf stuff...i know there are xerox combo scanners
that
can do .pdf 1 page at a time..and i know of large corp scanners which you
can
toss in say 50 pages of docs and turn the whole works into a .pdf doc thru
the
sheet feeder in one fell swoop (assuming you have the originals in reg
letter sized
form feed capable paper stock)...kinko's will do same for 32c a
page..ouch...so
that is out..i may go broke at 8c a page for basic xerox fees see below..

now... i have a lot of stuff i'd like to .pdf a lot of is is already in
xerox form...
anyone know off hand the cheapest but best xerox for home use i could get
(or saw something at best buy) where i could just toss say a bunch of
xeroxed docs
into a sheet feeder and walk away and it is scanned eventually automatically
into
a .pdf doc..again they exist...but if the beast is 2 grand..i may have to
wait a year
or two for the feature to trickle down to my income level...

the use is i presently have been making an inventory of all my apple //
stuff..ie one
master xeox blank 1-28 stating stuff like
item number 1__ type __apple 2 type___ hardware item_____sider 10mb
that is like the master index i will eventually use to find stuff

the xeroxes are of course the item itself name type rom version software y/n
etc etc
one for use w/ hardware and another form for books manuals..your main
inventory
item info sheet type of deal...

so when i'm done i'll have a master list of all...and this master list by
product and number
then when done i'll xerox off the whole works again and sort stuff by type
of peripheral
etc (on the form) and put them into binders so i can find stuff by item
number or what it
is in the two sets of binders..with this index mentioned above...and 2nd by
category in
binders like apple2/hardware/external hd/xebec/sider/first class
peripherals/10mb/eprom
number/software y/n/ cost/ approx value 2005 coments...that kinda thing....

jeez that musta been boring to read..it sucks even type the above too..

anyway...i'm about 1/15th of the way thru my stuff....and am on item number
407....
so i pretty much figure i have to spring for a xerox machine...or i'll go
broke at kinkos
...

thus my asking about xerox to pdf...then i could make what i got avail to
everyone who
wanted to know if i have some bit of software/eprom/disk/ etc in pdf format
and if you need say a eprom of a xebec 10mb 104308 rev c
i can see if i got it stuff like that... bug me for it that way...

anyway ..its boring ..it sucks ..but at least i'm doing this as i watch t.v.
bit by bit...with a
clip board...i would never get organized enough to do this by data base and
a computer means
this is my work around ..

so anyway..if you know about this stuff..work in an office with a xerox like
i'm talking about i need
let me know....i plan to do this once...make pdfs out of the works and if
you can't read my writing
tough...but organized like this i should be able to fill in a few holes for
people who are missing a manual
or too or some software or an eprom for some of the more exotic stuff...

anyway..basic inventory 101....make index....make inventory sheet of
item...make copy sort items by
category....its ugly but it should work...

otherwise i guess i can wander over to some usenet group on copy
machines..but figured i'd ask here
first...but i really really would never get around to .pdf 'ing this stuff
1page at a time in a convential scanner..
(shudders)

thanks for listening
