There is a little jumper wire on my Franklin Ace 1200 motherboard, and I have no idea what it is for. Here is a picture of it: http://www.apple2clones.com/images/jumper-981.jpg Does anyone know what this odd little jumper/short is for?My first guess would be selection between 2716 eproms and 2732 eproms? Or maybe 0 or 1 wait states on the RAM, i.e. 1 wait state for slower RAM?
Since the Apple has no comprehension of wait states, I'd vote for the ROM selection. ;-) But then why would it be dynamic--that is, controlled by a gate? Could it be a ROM "bank selector" to select between two ROM images if 2732's are installed? Surely, someone has the Franklin manual... -michael New Applesoft BASIC interface for NadaNet networking!
