Electrically, that controller should talk fine with SCSI-1 drives. Keepin mind that the SCSI bus protocol is managed by a softwarestate-machine in the driver, so compatibility may be iffy. These boardspredated the availability of single-chip SCSI controllers like theNCR5380 family. Come to think of it, they predated a stable SCSI-1specification!
