I scanned through it. Has some IIgs programming
charts, many schematics,

a 57600 baud serial interface from the gameport
full source code.

I've always really enjoyed Don's articles. His whole approach
to computing resonates with my own.

In the 57600 bps gameport serial interface section, he notes that
the actual data throughput of AppleTalk on a IIgs (and presumeably
on a workstation card-equipped //e) is much less than 57.6 kbps as
a result of protocol overhead. I am not surprised to hear this.

I'm feeling pretty good about being able to sustain about 9300 bytes
per second throughput with NadaNet, using a bit rate of 109 kbps raw
data rate.

Does anyone have any measured data throughput rates (memory-to-memory)
for an Ethernet card in an Apple II (using any implemented protocol)?
