Trademarks are granted now for 10 years periods
Patents last for 20 years
Copyrights last for (little more complicated but essentialy "For works
created after January 1, 1978, copyright lasts for the life of the author
plus 70 years") This is understandable for literary, art and musical works
but ..computer software...????
I think it would be good in the case of computer programs to require the
copyright holder to continue to "state interest" ie renew the copyright
every 10 or twenty years (like trademearks and Patents) or lose the "work"
to the public domain ....
hmm .... I guess that wouldn't work as copyrights are not granted .. they
are assumed (stated) by their creators... correct?
