There could be the cause for the delay then. Using the 13th file
space, it could be writing the last 4 samples to the 13th file area
hence giving the apparent time needed to write the file to /RAM.
If you delete the 1st sample while moving the 2nd, hence leaving
time to play each one, this might alleviate your problem.  :o)
