Strange idea... Cleanrooming the ][+ monitor?
I got a strange idea some time ago and have been working on the
possibility of a cleanroom monitor, attached to the BASIC from the
cleanroom "SimSystem IIe" emulator (which I have isolated, and I think I
still have a program to do this, so the simiie.zip from the emulation
sites, which should be redistributable "as is", is needed - it creates a
10K file containing the memory image to go at $D000-$F7FF).
Given sufficient information, perhaps, the remaining 2K could be
reconstructed, without Apple code being used. This would be of use to
emulator authors but also perhaps to anyone who might want to create a
"Replica ][".
The information I have includes inputs and outputs for most of the
functionality that Applesoft Basic (as implemented in SimSystem IIe)
needs in order to run, including SPEED=, all the lo-res graphic
statements, PRINT, GET and INPUT. I have not yet posted this though I
may soon do so.
