apple2/3 xebec card rev 1 info on this

the above link is for an apple 2/3 xebec card..

it is currently for sale if anyone is interested..i'm using it as an example
for the following question.....

oops briefly the card says...

.......the rom on it says HAL 1983....i have one it says rev 1 on it

and there is an actual pin setting on the card to jumper it for an apple 2
or and apple 3...


now my guestion is kinda.....

......i have a mess of siders and xebec cards (1986 seems to be a good
year)...anyway...

will this card WORK with xebec (ie Sider or ie....First Class Peripherals)
brand devices...or is it pre-sider

which i suspect is the old 30mb xebec DataMac Trustor Drives (which i am
fairly sure you CAN interface

with the newer xebec/first class peripherals cards after this 1983
date...but i'm not so sure that a 1983 xebec

card would be recognized by the sider software setup disks....i have with
this particular card....on anything xebec'ish.....ie too old


anyway you get my drift...the old hd units prob are still sasi and
recognised in a sasi chain with a newer first
class peripherals or xebec sider card....and/or sider software for the apple
2...(ie the 1986 ones)...but is the reverse true? using this card on a
apple // for example would any sider software recognize this card or did it
have a special xebec type specific
software pre-sider back in the day

just wondering if anyone knows off hand....that might still have the
beast.....up on something (at its age prob a black
bell and howell apple 2....i remember seeing one with a 30mb datamac trustor
back in the day...sigh....sniffle...apple 2's in
an actual apple display....i need a moment......)



the other guestion is.......i was under the impression you could run a newer
sider card on an apple /// using the
standard slots and such....?.....am i dense on this...but is this something
a newer sider card can do?....

anyway....if someone is running such a card with say a more current sider
and it works hunky dory let me know

or if anyone is running an old 30 mb datamac trustor sasi unit labeled xebec
let me know that as well....

sorry if i freaked anyone out by talking about something that is prehistoric
even on this prehistoric apple 2 area...but
even i get stumped sometimes.....
