The SE/30 is ideal as an Apple II peripheral, assuming you can get the
files to it. I'd recommend:
Get a copy of Fetch (FTP client) on the Mac and DiskDup+ or DiskDup Pro
(disk copying utility), and a box of DS DD floppies. The 800 KB floppies
you need for both the IIgs and older Macs are identical to IBM 720 KB
diskettes (they just need reformatting). DiskDup+ will reliably format
ProDOS disks and even make bootable copies, which is why I would
recommend it over other utilities.
If you have trouble getting a modem working with the Mac, try using
FreePPP... seems to be pretty good at guessing the right init string for
just about any modem. ANother option is to D/L images on a PC and copy
them to the Mac, it will read both HD and DD PC floppies if you have
foreign file access installed (also needed for ProDOS support).
Also, if you have a bit more patience you can connect the IIgs and Mac
via AppleTalk, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you have time to
mess around with it.
Hope that helps.
