System 6.0.1 boots on a floppy-only system just fine.  It could be a bit
slow if you're running on just one 3.5" drive (lots of disk swapping), but
it'll work.  If you have 4 MB or more of RAM, you might consider copying
your boot disk to a RAM disk and reboot off of that.  The better long-term
answer, of course, would be to add a hard drive.

(System 6.0.1 will even boot off a CD-ROM, but if you don't have a hard
drive for your IIGS, it's even less likely that you'll have a CD-ROM drive
for it.)
