I recently found a Farallon Timbuktu/PhoneNET Kit at a thrift store. It
looks to be complete, the software was still sealed. I don't have a computer
with an ISA slot handy now, but I'm hoping that this card will allow me to
transfer files back and forth to my IIgs.
I have a couple of questions though. First, will this card even work under
Windows 98? If so, will I be able to connect to my PC from my IIgs? Anyone
tried this?
It seems the W2K server and, I believe, also NT server work
with the COPS DayStar localtalk board. I don't know if it
is at all related you your board.
I would look for a Gatorbox (or GatorStar) or Fastpath,
which are ethernet to localtalk boxes. Both W2K and NT
server support Appleshare and appletalk printing. The
gatorbox will also do IP tunneling, at least that works
for localtalk Macs. Is there mactcp for the IIgs (maybe
it would have a different name)?
