Nothing wrong with asking questions and advice.

IMO, a TurboIDE isn't really a good choice for a //e unless you have a
Vulcan installed, then it makes an excellent replacement controller. The
card itself is more expensive (including s&h) than your other options.

I have a TurboIDE card, but I use it in an 8MB GS because it supports DMA.
That's the only real advantage there - DMA support. I'd much rather use a
Focus, RamFAST or Apple HS SCSI if given the option.

If cost is an issue - I would recommend either the CFFA card, which is
plenty fast, or find a Focus Zero card and add your own drive (warning -
formatting a Focus may require a GS). The CFFA card is great in that it's
almost... almost like having an "instant on" Apple II. The CFFA doesn't
break any speed records but for most people, it's fast enough. I use mine to
boot, store utils on, etc - but I keep my data on a real drive - the stuff
that changes frequently.

Or go with SCSI - An Apple HS SCSI on an enhanced //e is slightly faster
than one equipped with a RamFAST. More expensive obviously to go this route,
but tried and true.
