Unfortunately no, it isn't. It's also probably why you haven't received

The comp.sys.apple2 newsgroups are for the Apple II line of computers. 
For Macintosh you want the comp.sys.mac newsgroups. Either comp.sys.mac.
system or comp.sys.mac.apps would be appropriate.
