You're right, the IIgs is far more pleasant to use - I can network it with
cheap, off the shelf, fully supported components from Apple (LocalTalk)...

Faster than /most/ Macs? With a 68060? I suspect that your emulated '060 is
going to struggle to keep up with my AWS95, let alone most Macs, and will
have cost rather more than it too ;)

I had an A1200 when they were new. This one is a new experience; it's got an
'030 with 32Mb in it, but the HD installers are incapable of telling me if I
have a duff drive or not; very uninformative. Transferring the software is
tricky - 1.44 drives would help because then I could move an ADF image on a
single PC floppy - and TCP/IP isn't much use until you have the drivers
loaded ;)

Worst of all is the current situation with Workbench and the a$$holes who
have acquired licenses to use it. Apple let people download legacy MacOS and
GS/OS free. Cloato et al charge for ancient Workbench copies of no use to
anyone but Amiga users who would have already had Workbench with their
machine...

I know. That was really my point; the IIgs only needs 2.8MHz, 4Mb and a SCSI
card to be a useful computer; the Amiga needs a ton more stuff ;)
